Luciano Pavarotti performed Nessun dorma during the first ever joint concert of The Three Tenors on 7th July, shortly before the match for third place which featured the host team. A heavily reworked version of the title track, with vocals by Italia '90 footballer Paul Gascoigne, was released on 29th October under the title Fog on the Tyne (Revisited).
